A classic hook for creating poppers, zonkers and other large artificials for pike and black bass fishing, a technique that is becoming increasingly popular in Italy too. In sizes 6 and 4 it is also used for dressing streamers for trout and char fishing, such as the classic Wolly Bugger.
It can also be used at sea; in fact, the larger sizes up to 1/0 are a safe alternative to the classic Aberdeen, and therefore ideal for baiting sardine fillets, Bibi, cannolicchi and Americani. The sizes 4 to 10 are ideal for the construction of leaded heads for use in trout spinning. By heating the eyelet with a flame, a swivel can be inserted in order to eliminate the use of a snap hook and present the bait in a much more natural way. The small sizes up to 14 are excellent for bottom fishing.
