Bolognese rods

, Bolognese or passaga fishing is a traditional fishing technique, practiced for many years. Since the advent of carbon in the early 1980s, it has further developed because manufacturers have succeeded in developing increasingly longer and lighter rods with much more responsive actions than before.

The carbon they're made from is top-quality, offering incredible rigidity and lightness. In our shop, you'll find the carbon telescopic Bolognese fishing rods, both assembled and unassembled.

Lengths can vary from 3 to 10 meters , with the most commonly used being 4 , 5 , 6, and 7 meters . They are mainly used in rivers and seas for float fishing and are always telescopic.

Casting powers are available in many versions, from light ones with weights up to a maximum of around 10 grams, the medium ones, widely used and versatile, which cast up to 20 grams and the strong ones, dedicated to sea fishing or for large carp in rivers.

A good Bolognese rod should have a very stiff blank at the bottom, with a tip ready to hook the fish. In freshwater, this technique is used to target barbel, chub, trout, and carp. In the sea, however, it is widely used for sea bass, gilt-head bream, saddled bream, white sea bream, and mullet.

Italian companies are certainly the most representative in this technique, with an endless range of rods available in many versions. Tubertini's range includes the R18, one of the best Bolognese rods on the market, the new Level Vision 0-15 gram and the Level Vision Power with a maximum casting weight of 30 grams, the Level Force, a rod dedicated to pure bait fishing, the TBX, Tatanka Slim and Tatanka Power, Level Active, and many others. The best brands offer a warranty that varies from 2 to 5 years against manufacturing defects, depending on the model.
